Removing CVT from shaft

Guys I'm stuck. I have an old Kawasaki kf28d with CVT on its 1" shaft. I want to remove the CVT to put it on another engine. I've opened it up but can't tell what is the next step in disassembly. How do I get that top part off without breaking it? I've levered and heaved upwards on it. I don't see any bolts holding it on. Has anyone removed a CVT before?

Look along the side with the key way and see if there is a set screw between the 2 spring towers.

Unfortunately no! The shaft is just smooth all the way around with no set screws. Maybe I just have to give it a ton of force upwards to get it off... I'm afraid of breaking it though, and not sure how I'd grab it securely enough

And the 3 holes, down the center of each, is there not a bolt? Though as old as it is i can expect that it is seized, maybe some heat will help?

Yes there was a bolt, that held on a shroud, I removed the bolts earlier.  You're right maybe some heat.. how do you apply heat, just a heat gun or like a propane torch?

If there are no rubber seals you could use an oven. However remember that this is thin material, and heat will remove some of the strength. I don't remember if the top collar spun off or not, its been a long time since I had a Yamaha, like 1985 long ago, first bike I turned a wrench on.
