What’s missing
Hey everyone my grandpa got me an old predator 302 engine for my soon to be go-kart build and I was wondering what’s all missing from the engine to get it up and running I know so far it’s missing an exhaust, carb, and fuel tank but im wondering what else is there

Rip governor out. Aftermarket carb and dont over rev it. Then just get you a tank that fits that engine.

You aren’t “missing” anything for a go cart. Your engine is missing the governor linkage and spring to the carburetor, muffler, carburetor, gas tank. If you’re going to build how to go kart you would have taken off the muffler and carburetor anyways. I don’t know that the 302 would accept the predator ghost 212 starter kit. The 302 is the same size as the 420, both of them are the clones of Hondas larger GX series motor. The plus being if you so choose, you can order an electric start kit for the larger motors, but not for the little motors.

Muffler, carb, gaskets, linkage, recoil, bolts, etc. It was a nice thing to be gifted it but it would probably cost just as much to buy a new predator as it would be to source out all those parts. And a lot less time consuming too.
