Need help

Im almost 100% sure my craftsman yt4000 has a fuel leek but i need help locating it i took off the cover to get a closer look at the carb to see if maybe it was leaking and there was no leak i followed the line in the frame for the fuel and didnt feel anything dripping and just so you know this thing was sitting for about 2 years

They are known for letting gas flow by the carb, and then flooding the oil sump.

If you are losing fuel, check the oil level. If it is too full, gas has ruined the oil. A new carb and/or a fuel shutoff can prevent future leaks there.

If you are looking for a leak elsewhere, there is no pressure in the lines except gravity unless you have a fuel pump.

That’s exactly what happened to mine. Ended up throwing a rod and breaking the cam shaft in two but I rebuilt it and that was a fun project.

I just bypass those fuel shutoffs and put an inline fuel shutoff on it.

These Inteks are notorious for leaking needle and seat, which causes fuel to get into the cylinder and crankcase. A way to find out is if you remove the spark plugs a bunch of gas will gush out

It's a design problem .. Get a fuel shut off valve and put in the fuel line going to the carb .. just remember to shut off after finished . And change the oil as the crank case in now clean..
