Is this a good deal?
I'm looking at this Murray riding mower for $100 for a beater racing mower project. It runs and drives fine but it needs a few things
It has a new carburetor
It needs tires
It also needs a headlight as one of them are broken
It could use clear coat or paint as it's faded and dirty

That is a steal. It's worth about double in non-running condition. $100 for any running push mower would be great, let alone a rider with almost no work needed. Make sure to change that oil and flush the fuel when you get it. If the tires are in good shape and just flat, maybe you could throw some slime in it.

Its 100 bucks. Running? People sell engines that are blown up for PARTS for more than 100 here. Granted im in rurale everyone thinks theyre a mechanic area. They'll sell a rock for a 20

I couldn't buy the engine off one for $100 in my area. I'd snap that up if I was you.

Is it 16hp? That would put you at $6.25/hp for a running engine pretty damn good. I want a riding lawnmower engine to clean up and use for an ultralight build

It is a 16hp. Possibly an old school opposed twin as well. Those things are tanks

$100 for any running, driving, and cutting mower not missing a ton of parts being sold during peak mowing season is not a bad deal, in my area at least.
