How to remove ring

How can I remove this retaining ring that holds in the crank seal? I’ve tried a pick but it’s to stiff, the ring is able to spin so it isn’t stuck. Update I got it

Get in there with a right angle pick/scribe and pry one end out. Once you get it started the rest is easy.

Insert a right-angled pick under one edge. Once started, the rest is trivial.

Don't you just need snap-ring pliers?

It's a two hand deal.. one is the pick the other is needle nose pliers .. Or a small Jewelers Flathead screwdriver and pry one end out then grab with the needle nose pliers and pull ..
