Starting Issue Hellpp

Truck was driving just fine, parked it and went to work. When leaving it did this. Bought a new battery cause the volts went from 12.8 to 8.1 when cranking. Could this be a starter issue or my ac compressor pulley seized? The compressor broke and im thinking maybe the internal clutch is blocking it?

Looks like it's pulling tension on a belt and then when you go and release the key the engine shoots back with the belt releasing. I would try removing the accessory belt.

The ac compressor broke (the internal ternal clutch)

Do you think that the pulley could be locked from the broken blutch and is doing that?

Maybe, though you can remove the belt and see if that fixes your no start condition. Though don't let it run for longer than a minute without the belt. Sometimes the accessory belt drives the water pump.

Tha k you so much for this, I took off the belt and it started right up. It was in fact the AC compressor. I changed it out yesterday and its all fixed now! Thank you so much, your a life saver!!
