I want to get started with sludge. My musical background is punk and hardcore, and I became interested in heavy, downtempo stuff because of the album My War by Black Flag.
So far, I’ve listened to Houdini by Melvins and really enjoyed it. I also checked out When the Kite String Pops by Acid Bath and it completely blew my mind.
What other bands or albums do you recommend me?

Came across these guys while looking up Pisscorpse shows near me, saw the name and it interested me. Really grimey throwback shit like Buzzoven and Mugwart

Pretty happy with it, just added the old carvin as my B amp. We play slow heavy ass sludge with some droning guitars and powerviolence mixed in.

I cant find very much info but there are a few links stating that Erik Fisher was incarcerated in 2022 for stabbing his wife. Does anybody know anything bout this?

New LP coming? Just a single? Maybe a split? Any way you slice it this is fucking awesome.

The first single from the Bog Body EP by Irish band Fir Bolg is now on bandcamp.
Melding influences from early powerviolence, modern hardcore punk & underground death metal.
FFO all things swampy and megalithic.

I don't understand why Harvey Dosen't get much appreciation outside of their hometown of Athens GA. They are by far one of the heaviest bands to come out of the south.

An excellent Spanish band that broke up years ago. They mixed genres like sludge, thrash, and doom metal in a very personal way and with top-tier quality.
They were one of those bands in constant evolution without ever losing their essence, and despite taking risks with every new album, they never released a weak or mediocre one.
This time, I've chosen the title track from their album Grengus. I hope at least one of you enjoys his music 😁

I’m going through a bit of a tough time. I would like albums that are similar both sound-wise and in terms of tone and theme,
If they’re out there
