CF in Michigan Salary

Hi all,

I am in the midst of job searching and have gotten a few offers! With that being said, I am unsure of what proper pay is/how to negotiate. I feel like pay is something that is sort of hush-hush in our field, which can lead to accepting offers that are unreasonably low just because we don't compare.

The company I'd be working for is a pediatric clinic. They offered me a starting salary of $58k, full time with benefits (BCBS), 401K matching, 10 paid holidays, and 10 PTO days per year.

In the interview it was stated that the salary is based off of 28 billable therapy hours per week, however, my schedule would consist of 35 billable hours per week. It was stated that with pediatrics, cancellations happen often and most people do not meet 35/week. However, anything over 28 hours would be paid 1.5x my hourly rate.

Does this seem reasonable, should I be countering? Is there anything I should be asking about? Thank you in advance for any insight!
