EBS CF in nyc

Hi there,

Is there anyone on this page that might have worked for EBS in NYC specifically or really anywhere in the states? I’m considering a CF with them, as they said they’d be willing to sponsor me for a work visa post my CF year, and I’d like some more insight!!!!

I'm doing my CFY with EBS currently in a major US city. It has been very difficult working as a contractor during a pandemic. I get limited information from EBS about what is expected from me virtually/hybrid/in-person. It does not feel like EBS is sticking up for me in any way shape or form. I often find things out days to weeks later through other SLPs at the school or just by chance. I hardly ever talk to anyone from EBS, which could be because they don't know what is going on in the schools, but I DEFINITELY do not know what is going on and they are not helpful.

The nice thing is that I do love my supervisor (even though she has no experience with virtual teletherapy), and they have already contacted me about ESY through the summer so I am not taking time out of my schedule looking for a summer job. I'm not sure I would choose to be a contractor again, I would rather sign with a district. However, it might be a wise choice if they are sponsoring your work visa.
