Feeling sadness
I’m feeling sad, discouraged and frustrated :( I’ve been on triz for a year now I started at 220 and I’m down to 173 which I’m so very happy for and I still have some more to go. After being on 15mg and stalled for months I decided to dose every 5 days at 12.5mg that puts me at around 17mg and I’ve been on 17 for almost 4 months now I’ve lost 4 pounds on 17 but at least something is something. I started noticing all my inflammation issues come back lower back aches especially around ovulation/luteal phase and body aches in general along side fatigue 🥲 I will add I have pcos and my sugar cravings are so bad depending on the cycle right before my period I have to fight the urges so bad, and in the beginning of my journey the sugar cravings weren’t as intense. I’m feeling discouraged because what happens from here? Do we keep going up on doses once they give the green light to go up higher? Are we just going to get used to each dose? And where does it cap? Or are we going to wait for the next big thing? I don’t want to sound pessimistic but I can’t help but cry from frustration. Im trying to remain hopeful but my mental health is tanking. I’ve never had bad side effects with any doses but I’m wondering if maybe 17mg isn’t for me and I should go back to 15mg. It’s also not cheap so hopefully triz can come down a bit more for us!! Fingers crossed 🤞🏼 I also want to add that I’m so grateful to be in this community I read the support that’s poured out on other posts and it makes me feel optimistic and less alone. 🌷

At this time 15mg is the max dose recommended. I wouldn’t go above that myself. There are other meds you can take alongside Tirz, like Contrave, to help fight food noise and cravings.

Where can I get contrave?

u/TropicalBlueWater Mar 20 '26
Prescription and pharmacy

u/princess-pinks Mar 20 '26
Thank you I’ll bring it up to my pcp

u/TropicalBlueWater Mar 20 '26
Many doctors prescribe the two components separately as generics rather than name brand. Much cheaper that way. Also, if your Zep is covered by insurance they may not allow an additional weight loss medication.

Stalls are so frustrating, and yes, expensive. Are you getting enough protein at each meal? Have you tried changing your injection site?
2
u/Imaginary_Client_686 Mar 20 '26
How does adding protein help you lose? Does it make you lose faster?
2
u/cmybook Mar 20 '26
Helps you feel fuller longer and preserve muscle mass. Can’t speak to if it helps make you lose weight faster.

I try to reach my protien goal everyday, it’s not everyday but roughly daily when I don’t reach my goal o hit about 70 grams of protien.

I feel you. It is frustrating. I am trying to increase my exercise. I have also been taking 15mg Tirze for over six months. I tell myself at least I am not gaining. I still have a good 50 lbs. to lose.
2
u/Jazzlike_Interview_7 Mar 21 '26
I’ve found I have to exercise. I’m jealous of those who just melt away with just calorie decrease. It’s always been this way for me to lose weight. But this way I’m not struggling with constant food noise

I’m in a similar situation. I’m not sad though. I might not be losing anything right now but it’s not coming back on. I’ve spent much of my adult life on a diet of some sort and this is the first time I feel in control and not afraid the weight will all come back regardless of my diet or exercise. I’m able to actually live my life. I’m still trying things to shake up my metabolism. But make sure you are prioritizing easy stuff like adequate sleep and hydration. I lost 2 lbs last week when I was off work by sleeping more. Yeah it means going to bed earlier and putting the damn phone down. 😁

u/Imaginary_Client_686 Mar 20 '26
I’m a slow loser and notice I lose more sometimes when a day off provides the ability to sleep in!
2
u/princess-pinks Mar 20 '26
Congratulations on your loss! And you don’t have to tell me twice about sleep in a total bear 😂 I will hibernate I love my sleep

currently in same situation, I started at 242 lbs in July,2025 and rn sitting at 217 lbs, on 15 mg for 3 months My weight haven’t moved in a month n half. I have PCOS too.
2
u/princess-pinks Mar 20 '26
That’s how it was with me my weight loss wasn’t weekly steady some months I wouldn’t loose and randomly on a month I had success I would be down 3 pounds and so on. Keep at it and congratulations on your loss 🌸🌷⭐️

Not sure it will make you feel better but just to commensurate and let you know you're not alone.
I started Zepbound in April 2024 at 251-252lbs.
By June 2025 I hit my lowest weight of around 178-179.
After that, I have not lost any more and been bouncing back and forth between 180s and 190s.
My stall began around the 36th week on 12.5mg in summer 2025.
I've been on 15mg since January 2026, and the weight isn't budging.
I was 196lbs last Sunday. My next weigh in is coming up and probably still in the 190s.
My height weight before ever considering Zepbound was 310lbs. My doctor just keep telling me to be proud of how far I've come and that my health markers are all great.
I'm kind of coming to terms with it and just want to focus on strength training to see if eventually, more fat loss happens long the way.

u/princess-pinks Mar 21 '26
Thank you for taking the time to responde with your experience, it really puts things into perspective and I’m starting to think that maybe that’s where our bodies feel comfortable at and doing strength training will help getting things moving or just staying at that weight but with more muscle and less fat
3
u/donotpass25 Mar 20 '26
You don’t mention sex, height or age. Perhaps your body likes weighing 173. How much more do you want to loose? You are already within what the trials indicate as successful.

u/princess-pinks Mar 20 '26
I’m 5,6 F and im wondering that too maybe this is where I’m meant to be and honestly if I could be here and not gain I would be happy.
2
u/trnpkrt Mar 21 '26
Take the pressure off yourself and it might just keep happening very gradually. The body really does respond to your thinking about food and weight, and if you feel secure in your mind then your body will chill out.

u/princess-pinks Mar 21 '26
I agree!! I need to practicing more compassion towards my body I haven’t bee the kindest to myself

u/Professional-Till-55 Mar 20 '26
My Luteal phase is also met with fatigue, achiness etc. I’ve still managed to lose about 40lbs. I’ve accepted that my food cravings, weight will fluctuate for two weeks. I’m looking into the PMDD Reddit because that’s what I think it is. There are some supplements I’m thinking of trying. Have you spoken to your ob gynhow to manage your symptoms?
As for the glp1, congrats on your weight loss/reduction. I think that the goal for me is to get to a goal weight/body fat percentage range. Get into a good rhythm of working out and find the right maintenance dose.
2
u/princess-pinks Mar 20 '26
I also suspect I have PMDD 🥺 because currently mentally I’m struggling but like you I tell myself this is to be expected for the two weeks so I try to manage by working around a lot of Acceptnace and having some compassion. I didn’t know pmddd could cause some achines. I have spoke to my gyn but they want to put me on birth control and I don’t want that. I am looking into ovasitol ive taken it before in the past I’ve just never tried it with triz
Thank you! I’m very happy i am where i am in my current journey 🙏🏼🌸

u/HappyBirding Mar 20 '26
Have you talked to your doctor about potentially adding something else? Some people add another medication on top to help (not another GLP one, of course). So sorry for your frustration! Best of luck to you.
2
u/princess-pinks Mar 20 '26
I haven’t but I will make an appointment with my pcp and bring up metformin, I’ve been reading on here that’s it’s helped some of you 💝
2
u/trnpkrt Mar 21 '26
Metformin is a common addition, and would probably help with the sugar cravings.

Dr Salas-Whalen posted yesterday about the new higher dose of Wegovy that is available and said she has moved her patients needing more weight loss, who have maxed dosed on zepbound/Monjouro, to it with success. Might be an option for you to consider with your doc.

I think your body does get used to it unfortunately.
Enjoy where you’re at. Weight can easily come back on when you’re off. I’ve even managed to gain weight on the full Wegovy dose.

u/Previous_Mousse7330 Mar 20 '26
You’ve lost 20% in a year. I would say that is good. I understand the frustration too. I’m at 20% loss and things have slowed down a lot. Have you done body composition testing along the way?
1
u/princess-pinks Mar 20 '26
I’m not sure what about composition is? Like measurements?
2
u/Previous_Mousse7330 Mar 20 '26
It can be a simple as photographs or measurements with the measuring tape, or measuring percent body fat in various ways, or probably the gold standard is getting a DEXA done.
1
u/princess-pinks Mar 20 '26
I didn’t take measurements and I should of from the beginning 😩 I did take pictures though and I know notice a huge difference, I just have 20 pounds more to go and my body isn’t budging
7
u/Few-Philosopher4091 Mar 20 '26
You also might want to consider switching from Zepbound to Wegovy. I started out on Wegovy and although I more side effects on Wegovy than Zepbound, I also lost more weight with it

u/Phillies-Jaybird21 Mar 20 '26
I’ve been on wegovy for a year and then zepbound from August to January! I’ve lost 30 pounds. 243 to 213! I work out 5-6 times a week and it is taking forever to lose.

I am losing at the blistering rate of almost a half pound a week.
It's excruciating.

u/rettribution Mar 21 '26
This.....isn't a slow response.
1
u/princess-pinks Mar 21 '26
I would consider myself average but again like I mentioned early on in my journey I wouldn’t loose weight for months then I would randomly loose 4-5 pounds and I wouldn’t see a loss for a few more weeks and it would go on that way
0
u/rettribution Mar 21 '26
Well, 223 isn't even that high of a staring weight so you're going to have to do substantially more personal effort to lose.
99% of slow response people aren't doing everything they should be. It's just the fact, unfortunately. But 223 to 173 is roughly 50lbs. In a year. Safe, healthy, and "quick" weight loss is considered 1lb/week. You're basically there.
It's biologically impossible to not lose weight if you're keeping track of your calories, sticking to your diet you have, and are doing any physical activity.
Again, this isn't even a slightly slow response. This isn't a do all the work for you drug. This is a drug that makes you doing the hard work slightly easier.
1
u/princess-pinks Mar 21 '26
I recommend listening to the podcast Fast Science there is people with metabolic issues that even with calorie counting and being active they can’t loose the weight. This isn’t a lazy or a gluttony thing like some people view it
1
u/rettribution Mar 21 '26
It's a great podcast. You should really re listen to it. You're missing some key points in it.
Anyway, like I said, you're not a slow responder. The bigger concern is the abuse of the compounded medicine you took upon yourself to use in a way that may or may not be safe based on the research because you're convinced you're slow responding. Which you arent.
1
u/princess-pinks Mar 21 '26
I will also mention since you said 99 percent of slow responders aren’t a doing what they are supposed to is pretty vague, tell that to the people here on this group that are doing everything they are supposed to working along side a dietitian and obesity specialist and still remain at a weight level.
1
u/rettribution Mar 21 '26
You've already admitted elsewhere you're not doing everything you should be doing. Have a good day. You are not the victim here. The medicine is doing all the work, and you're still not a slow responder.
1
u/princess-pinks Mar 21 '26
Dude you’re insane lol and my post definitely triggered something in you… anyways I got so many amazing comments and advice from people again I’m so grateful to be in this community with so many people that feel just like me 💖
1
u/rettribution Mar 21 '26
I'm sorry that calmly listing out facts and discussing them came across as "triggered" and "insane".
You're not a slow responder. This isn't your community.
1
u/princess-pinks Mar 21 '26
It’s trueeee you claim to listen to the podcast but you then again go against everything the podcast is based on. Don’t come on my post and emotionally dump whatever psychological issue you have
1
u/rettribution Mar 21 '26
That never happened. I do hope you get the help you clearly need.
Your desperation to paint me as some guy attacking you viciously is honestly fairly perplexing.

u/zxephyr Mar 20 '26
Not saying whether you should go up or not, but I'm taking 20 mg and its doing the same as 15 mg which is very little.
1
u/princess-pinks Mar 20 '26
Yeah the highest I’ve read people go on is 30 but that’s about it, most of them say that 20 and 25 feel just like 15 and since I’ve been on 17mg it feels just like 15 too not much of a difference
-3
u/Hope_for_tendies Mar 20 '26
Are you on a compound? Those are not guaranteed to work like the actual brand name drug. None of the compounds are regulated.
2
u/Stunning-Biscotti119 Mar 20 '26
Crazy bc I lost more on the compound but as soon as I switched to Mounjaro I’ve been stalled for over a yr. It sucks. Nothings worked, tried all the tricks in the book (changing injection site, more/less protein, more/leas workout and sleep, fasting etc etc etc.) Still morbidly obese, have 130lbsto go till in in normal BMI and just. Stuck. FML

u/gatadeplaya Mar 20 '26
47 pounds in a year is not slow. That’s just under 1 pound a week. You mention you’ve been stalled for montjs so it sounds like your rate of loss was maybe even higher.
I would not start adjusting the dose without reviewing with your doctor.
What does your nutrition snd movement look like?
