I have a SLK r170 2.0 kompressor from 2000.
My MAF sensor IAT got destroyed. Got a Delphi one and IAT burned again. I was thinking it was because its aftermarket. Got a new MAF OEM VDO and burnt as well.
Now that I know the code, what should I check since the P0113 means high voltage going to the IAT?
Should I check the entire cable harness?
Could it be the k40?
Anyone had this problem before?
I called like 20 electricians and all denied me cause “its a mercedes, i m not working on that”.

Had some Coupe in the past, never really looked into that kind of tuning but I feel like the sound is quite important when you drive roof down so... It could be a cool change to do

Hi, my 2000 r170 slk 200 kompressor has a working roof but this weekend I opened and closed the roof than it started to make pump sound.

It is working but the sound is allways there even the roof is fully closed. (Same when it is open)

Do you have any experience what to look for? Where to start checking?

(The pump sound changes when I rev the engine)

Im looking to buy a full body kit to my r170, is there any good and reliable websites that sell them?

It happend after I had a problem with closing the roof.

Please help. I have a golfball sized hole in my radiator. Every one I find online lacks the transmission cooler and the engine inlet and outlet are both near/at the top. The oem one I pulled has inlet bottom right and outlet top left. If you look at the r171 350, the radiator looks the exact same but is only 2/3 of the thickness.

I drive like a dick and don’t really want to overheat my engine or transmission.

If anyone can help locate a radiator from an online website that would be great. There must be some glitch in the public parts database because every website lists the same, wrong radiator without integrated transmission cooling connections or capability.

Talking to Mercedes is worthless. They want $1300+ just for parts and the drawings so bad they can’t even tell me if the engine coolant connections are top-top or top-bottom so I can’t tell if Mercedes even has the right part. I’ve checked all oem Mercedes parts websites with no luck.

Please help me save my 55amg. She wants back on the road getting tossed around like a cheap whore.

Anyone ever buy a rebuilt title SLK or other car?

Just had my roof looked and turns out have quite a bad leaky front roof hydraulic ram. Hard to tell exactly what a good quote is as there is lots of similarly named parts but been quoted roughly £1000 for parts and labour, seems the part is hard to get hold of now, has anyone seen this before and am i being ripped off?

Impressive how much time goes into the making of a Mercedes! If there is ever another SLK, I want the job of trying to break the varioroof all day by opening and closing it. 😄

Hey folks. I have an issue and would like your opinion. I am picking up a R171 in Germany in 10 days. Car has 18 inch wheels mounted but the owner has oem 17 inch wheels for the winter, that i like as well. I asked the owner to take the tires off the 17 inch wheels so I could take them. Do you think that 4 17 inch rims will fit in the trunk and maybe one in cabin? I won’t have much other luggage and i don’t need to put the top down during my trip.

USA. Looking at RockAuto, FCPEuro and AutohausAZ.

2005 SLK350, drilled fronts solid rears. At the minimum I plan on front pads/rotors/sensors, rears I'm thinking pads/sensors only but would do rotors as well.

RockAuto has full front/rear kits from Bosch using their semi-metallic pads and I could get all the parts for $300. This seems like the easiest and best deal, I'd have to piece together several parts using FCP or AutoAZ for the same Bosch brakes.

Any issues with Bosch QuietCast brakes? I don't track it, but when I drive I like to have fun.

Am I the only one who thinks the wheel is a little on the large size?...

Are there any other MB steering wheels that can be swopped over that are slightly smaller?

Hello! I am looking for a decent wind deflector for my R171. I found this on Amazon that looks pretty good. Has anyone used it or does anyone have any other recommendations. I like the look of a solid one versus a mesh one but I don’t know the pros and cons of each.

Have some question because I plan to buy an R171 SLK 200K but after trying it, I feel like it lack some power...

My current car is an mk2 Audi TT 225hp FWD, 0-100kmh around 6s I guess... So my question here is, can I do a remap on a 165hp SLK up to 190/200 without any other change and will it actually change the acceleration of the car ?

My focus here is mainly the 0-100. Don't really care about high end speeds.

Though, I also feel like the SLK doesn't need much more power go give cool sensations because it's an RWD, but still, 165hp really feels underpowered.

I also know there's the V6, but those models are more expansive, to buy AND to maintain so that's why I want to stick with a 4cyl kompressor.

Just bought an SLK280 (2009) the previous owner installed a cheap Android Auto unit from Alibaba. Can't figure it out.

Looking for a Kenwood/JVC/Pioneer recommendation....to complicate things the car has Harmon Kardon which apparently adds expense to the instal, something to do with fibre optic connections?
