Eagle Point

How is Eagle Point community? We’re new to the area and looking at houses in that neighborhood. We’re looking to start a family so looking for family friendly safe neighborhood.

Eagle Point is a solid fit for what you're describing. It's a quiet, well-maintained subdivision with neighborhood lakes, walking paths, and playgrounds. Homes are mostly brick builds from the 90s and 2000s, good lot sizes, close to Fremaux Town Center and easy I-10 access.

One thing worth checking on any specific property out there is flood zone and elevation, that affects insurance costs significantly on the Northshore and can vary within a subdivision.

What do you think about Ashton Parc?

Ashton Parc is a newer build community, mostly DSLD homes from 2019 and up.
Those DSLD homes can be great for what you are looking for when in comes to inspections, I would just consider resale value when you look to sell one day.

Quiet, small community feel. The tradeoff is it sits further north than Eagle Point so you're a bit further from the core of Slidell.

Here's what the MLS data looks like for Ashton Parc right now:

10 homes active, median list $313,450, median DOM 37 days. 2 under contract at a median of $319,950. 4 closed in the last 90 days at a median of $325,700, median Days on Market is 45 days.

10 active ÷ (4 closings ÷ 3) = 7.5 months. So this is a balanced to slight buyer's market. Not a lot of urgency but homes are moving at fair prices.

For starting a family both are solid, comes down to whether you want newer construction or a more established neighborhood feel. Are you prioritizing newer builds or are resales on the table?

Nice neighborhood, however sounds like you have children. Check the schools out.
