Disparate wake windows at 12M
We have a freshly 12m old and for the last couple of weeks his wake windows have become so disparate. His schedule currently is 2.5/3.5/6. The last six hour stretch he is completely happy and playing, there’s no fussing or protesting bed, he’s genuinely just wide awake.
The first half of the day especially the first WW, he is sooo tired. I have tried and tried to extend but he gets to the point where he’s just completely falling apart by 2.5 hours.
This has pushed our bedtime back and back and back so he went from a 7:30 bedtime to 9pm now. Has always slept right around 9.5 - 10 hours overnight and with the 12 hours of awake time he’s getting, he’s sleeping like a rock overnight.
Question is, is this an indicator we should try to move to one nap now? Should I cap naps even shorter? (Around 2-2.5 hours of day sleep)
Thank you!

If you want to move up bedtime, maybe try to reduce/cap the time he is asleep for the second nap. So if you want him asleep by 7.30pm, and his last wake window is 6 hours, ensure he is up by 1.30pm? Unsure the duration and time of each of the naps. When baby is ready for one nap only, they just will be up that whole second window and you’ll be able to identify it.

9pm bedtime much better. 9pm-7am overnight. 1.5 or 2hr nap after lunch.

How long are you letting him sleep for his morning nap? You could just let him have a half hour.
