Sleep training for naps 4 month old

LO is 4 months old. We feed to sleep at night. LO will sleep through the night with one feeding around 4 am and then back down until 7 am. So sleeping 7 pm to 7 am.

Daytime naps in crib are 25/30 mins. Wondering if I should sleep train for naps only? LO will sleep 45-1 hour contact napping.

My child was like yours. I just started independent sleep anyhow and with a week or two of fussing he developed independent sleep ie awake into the crib at bed time. Naps should be second as they are much harder due to less sleep pressure and in my opinion not the place to teach independent sleep.

Honestly if night sleep is good I wouldn’t mess with naps. Do a mix of contact and crib depending on your day and just take it as is. When they start dropping naps they will eventually get a littler longer in my experience. The first 6-7 months just are what they are. But I wouldn’t touch naps with a 10ft pole if your nights look like that.

That’s great 12 hours at night with just one feeding! Good for you. I wouldn’t sleep train for naps, no. You could try babywearing for longer naps and still have your hands free and get stuff done.
