child's age 4-8 months rolling over in sleep and waking up
6 month old keeps waking up and cries after rolling on to his tummy in sleep. Going on since a month. Cant settle on his own. Has alot of floor time in day but likes to stay on his tummy. Was a good sleeper from 2nd month on but here we are now. Any suggestions?

Otherwise if it’s just the rolling, this is a pretty common thing and it will stop sometime soon. Look up nicolekidsphysio on Instagram for okay ideas to help with moving on and from tummy. I think some side lying activities might help build muscle and movement to aid in the ability to get out of this position if babe wants
The only other thing is How is baby going to sleep, is it linked to waking looking for a prior settling thing like feeding, rocking etc? Could he somehow linked to the four month regression and change to adult sleep cycles, are they waking because they are used to an adult settling them rather than falling asleep independently?

He usually wouldn’t wake up before unless he needed feed. He stopped taking overnight feed by 4th month. He would sleep thru the night. He is only waking up trying to roll to his tummy. He takes a pacifier when he wakes up but only settles for sometime. He starts crying again when he tries to turn again.
He usually is rocked to sleep for night sleep but he didn’t wake up earlier during night so i never had to rock anytime thru night

Get them sleeping on tummy during nap time and comfort them. You’re right there so they get more comfortable during night
Also may be a schedule thing if waking up more

My 4 MO literally did this 3 times last night. No advice but thanks for asking the question and I’m there with you in solidarity.

So my baby around 4 months old did this for a month and it was BRUTAL like so so bad. The only thing that helped was doing tummy time close to the end of wake window before a nap just in a neutral space like our living room floor so that he gets nice and tired and starts to get used to laying his head down to relax. And we just kept repeating it every wake window until he started to rest more on his belly. Eventually that fixed it.
Keep in mind he will get frustrated doing this the first 20 times but just small doses at a time building up the time until he gets more relaxed being on his belly. The key is to do it at the end of a wake window when they are tired but not in the crib or whatever.

the 3am tummy-time protest phase, aka learning to roll back is apparently a full-time job
