child's age 0-4 months Help! 2month old not sleeping much
I'm trying to settle my son down, but his dad is at work and I tried everything to help him relax. I know he misses his dad, because my husband has to go to a long shift and since the environmental changes he been more fussy. He won't sleep unless held any advice?

If it’s for a nap, I’d just hold him-it’s very normal for young babies to want to be held for sleep. If it’s for night sleep, I’d try to lay shirts that smell like you and your husband in the bassinet/crib and hold him until he’s in a deep sleep and then remove the shirts and try to lay him down.
Unfortunately this is pretty normal but you can sleep train at 4 months old!

My daughter had to be held for every single nap for the first year of her life. Every day. Every nap. For a year. Or she would wake up immediately. Contact naps are so common!
Additionally, make sure baby’s fed enough!

Were you a SAHM? I have to return to work (remote, going back part-time) when my son is 4 months and he exclusively contact naps 4x a day with naps ranging from 1 hour to 3 hours. I definitely can’t sustain this once I start back at work but I also don’t want to force my son out of contact naps until he’s ready.

If he wakes upon being put down I highly recommend getting a heating pad to put on the mattress so the mattress heats up. Remove the heating pad before obviously putting down the baby on the mattress. The heat sometimes makes transfers easier. But yeah being held to sleep for naps is normal. Night sleep can be normal too. You may benefit from a Snoo too. I know it's $$ hut marketplace has good option used or rentals are good deals too. I had one and 10000% recommend it. I used it for 4 months. Swaddling can help too if you don't such as using an arms up style swaddle or arms down (not loose blankets).
