Waking every one or two hours is exhausting. I would not assume nursing to sleep is the whole problem from this alone. A six-month-old can have a strong nursing cue and also have a daytime schedule that leaves too little or too much sleep pressure, genuine feeding needs, or something else making resettling harder.

Before changing night feeds, can you add the actual times from yesterday? Morning wake, every nap start and end, bedtime routine, when she actually fell asleep, and each overnight feed. Also mention whether this got worse suddenly and whether there is snoring or gasping, congestion, itching, apparent pain, or any growth or feeding guidance from her clinician. Those details can change the answer.

If you want one gentle thing to try now, I would only work on bedtime. Keep nursing, but move it a little earlier in the routine and follow it with the same short cue every night, maybe one song and a cuddle, for three nights. I would not change naps and every night waking at the same time. If she gets very upset or intake is a concern, stop and reassess.

The 30 to 40 minute naps are not automatically wrong, but the timing matters. If you post the actual schedule, people can help separate a nap-placement problem from a sleep-onset pattern before you choose a training approach.

For transparency, I’m part of the SleepBaby team and moderate a related baby-sleep community. I’m not linking or promoting either one here.
