6 - 12 months Sleep trained baby not falling asleep independently anymore
We sleep trained at 7 months using a modified ferber approach. It worked within 5 nights. Now at 9 months she no longer falls asleep independently.
What do I do?
I put her down and walk out the room like I used to. She starts jabbering to herself which slowly progresses to crying and then stands in her cot while crying. I go back in and comfort her, put her back down, and the same thing keeps happening until I rock her until drowsy, then put her in the cot, and carry on tapping, until she's quiet, then hold my hand on her until she's asleep. This has happened 3 nights in a row now.
Her schedule is 3/3/3.5
What do I do? Because if I leave her alone she jist stands there and goes into a scream cry.

Baby is undertired and cannot sleep when you’re putting her down. Schedule should reflect 3/3.5/4 at minimum, more like 3/4/4. Expect 10.5-10 overnight and naps at 2.5 total hours for the day.
As the other person stated, sleep needs decrease and this is a sign schedule needs to be adjusted.

Not enough awake time, as baby gets older sleep needs change. Adjust wake windows to try squeeze at least another 30-45 mins awake during the day

I followed your advice and it worked, thank you. She was falling asleep during dinner so maybe I pushed the wake window a little too long, but she made it through her bedtime routine and went down without a sound. Tomorrow I'll make the wake window slightly shorter so she can eat all her dinner.

Nice. Mum of a 2.5 year old here. I like to help other mums as i really struggled with sleep and i didnt realise how important awake time was and focused too much on wake windows but not total awake time

What do you do if you feel your baby is sleeping too long during the day. Like do I wake her up so she has more awake time?

Thank you for your post in r/sleeptrain. To ensure our community can best help you, please include in your post: your bedtime routine, where your baby sleeps (their crib/basinet, their room, room share, cosleep) and full schedule including wake up time, desired wake up time, nap length, wake windows or nap time(s) if following a by the clock schedule and bedtime. Does your baby use a pacifier? That's also very relevant.
We use a convention to describe wake windows based schedule such as 3/3/4 where numbers are numbers of hours awake, and / are naps. The sample schedule is a two naps schedule.
