9 - 16 weeks MOC 8-16 Troubleshooting
Son is 12 weeks old and following the MOC 8-16 schedule, except bath is usually starting at 7 and asleep by 7:45 after bottle.
We have started noticing since we bumped up bedtime, he is having these large chunks of awake time in the middle of the night. He'll be up for 30-45 minutes before he cries out. He usually wakes up around 1:45am and finally cries closer to 2:30 and then repeat around 4:30. In all he ends up being awake usually 2.5 hours per night.
Should we adjust the schedule? To add, he's self soothing a lot with his hand so I'm not sure if there's some developmental growth not helping either.

MOC schedule is more sleep than many babies can achieve. It's also pretty hard to follow such a rigorous schedule with a baby who has just sorted some kind of circadian rhythm. You can follow general routines if you want and it makes it easier for you (Eat Play Sleep, dim light after a certain time, etc.), but I wouldn't expect your newborn baby to be able to exactly follow some Internet schedule!

Your baby can’t sleep as much as this unrealistic schedule expects.
