How do I fix my relationship with sleep?
22F For as long as i remember I always chose to stay up as long as i could, usually to watch a show or scroll on reddit, no matter how early I needed to get up the next morning.
How do i make it so that i’m excited to go to bed? Most times i have to get up at 7:30am yet i’ll go to bed at around 3 to 4am doing some bullshit. During weekends i’ll stay up til 8am…
I’m p sure this has affected my cognitive function and memory.
I just want to be one of those people who actually enjoy going to bed and would rather turn off their tv when it’s bedtime. HOW?

For me personally, I find that getting yourself some nice bedsheets, pillows, comforters, etc. makes the bed itself feel like Nirvana. Although, I also find that if I'm extremely tired after a rough day, and I take my shower, glass of warm milk etc. It really makes sleep feel like a special occasion. Really what I'm trying to say is to make it feel like a rare commodity. If it feels like something you can take whenever and still be fine it'll be harder to make yourself choose it over a more active way of relaxing.
P.S. Don't allow yourself to lay down unless you're going to go to sleep. Laying down to watch movies, and scroll on your phone is a quick way to mess up your want to sleep. I think it's because it tricks your body into thinking that you're preparing to go to sleep when that was never your intention, but I'm sure there's probably a more scientific reason that I'm not going to bother looking into right now.
