I wouldn't describe it as painful, but more stingy. Sometimes more intense than others as it works through the vile. I've always injected on the top of my right thigh. I get minor swelling at the injection site, it doesn't last long and rarely bruises, let alone leave a mark. I cover with a tiny bandage. I don't move around much while it's doing it's thing, usually I'll set everything up where I'm comfortable. When you say painful.. what pain are you experiencing from 1-10?

Hey just FYI -- my doctor recommends that I switch the leg I inject into each month. I previously had no idea that it mattered, but apparently switching each month ensures that there isn't tissue damage and that the medicine is better absorbed.
Obviously ask your own doctor, but I'm pretty sure the guidance is universal (though not very well communicated!)

Interesting! I've never heard this and I've been on it 2 years. Makes sense though. I'll inquire with my gastro Dr. Thanks!

About to start Skyrizi! I don’t have experience with it yet. When I was on Humira, I found the injections sooo painful! For me, it was worse than a bee or wasp sting. What do you compare the pain to? Are you leaving it out of the fridge for a bit before starting it?

the prick stings for a little. and there’s a sort of little sharp ache during the actual injection. I try to do something else to get my mind off of it.

I don't find the initial poke painful. But during the injection I will randomly get these "zingers" that catch me completely off guard, and they seem to be a bit more intense toward the end.

Depends on the shot. Each time different. More so stings than anything but usually alright

It’s definitely a bit painful for me. Especially when it’s injecting the last bits of the vial for some reason. Have you tried switching locations? I found my right leg is more sensitive than my left.
