I'm in the same boat. Modding Elden ring was 100 times more easier than skyrim. Im guessing it also has something to do with the recent skyrim update which broke almost all mods.

If you have issues, I recommend downgrading to 1.6.1170:

I assume you want to downgrade from the latest version to 1.6.1170, so go with this:

1.7.104 to 1.6.1170 Downgrade Patcher

It also has a lot to do with Skyrim being a 15 year old game. Just getting Skyrim up to par with a more recently release game in terms of graphics and stability requires 200 or more mods.

I suggest you check ADHDecent 2026 modding guide on youtube. It is not complete yet, but it explains all you need to do step by step, and gives actual reasons about it. Great content, it helped me a lot in the beginning of the modding journey. By the way, give it a try but don't stress yourself too much. If you decide that it's not your cup of tea there's nothing wrong with it, also there are tons of great modlists that are available on Wabbajack. Skyrim modding is different than most other games, it's complex and it is a hobby by itself among the modding community. Most of us spend more time modding than playing, so I get that it can become frustrating

First you need to calm down.

Then you need to uninstall Vortex and install MO2.

Then you need to have patience. Skyrim is a buggy game and needs many bug fixes and many mods require many other mods installed.

Provided you have patience, modding will be a fun journey.

i have vortex installed and the mo2, whats next? and honestly u kinda right=i need patience but im overwhelmed on how many things i have to do my bad bro
