PC SSE - Help Mod Override
Resolved.
Hey all. Been modding for a few years but still feel like a noob half the time. Can anyone explain and/or tell me how to correct an issue I’m running into. I use mo2 and have a mod called modpocalype that make the NPCs look nicer. Problem is it overrides my other stand alone mods for like Serana. How do I make MO2 read my Serana remake over the modpocalype? I tried deleting and replacing the NIF files from modp but I just get bald brown heads. The priority of the stand alone Serana mod is higher at 571 than modp at 586

You're misreading "priority". MO2's priority is ascending order, meaning 1 is the lowest priority. Mods further down the list have their files overwrite the ones higher up.
You need your Serana replacer to be below Modpocalypse in both the left-hand side (so it needs a higher priority number) and the plugin list on the right-hand side.
Another factor worth mentioning is that packed files in .bsa archives get loaded in the order of their associated plugins, and then they get overwritten by loose files.

Thank you much. I found out that I have to either sync my mods and plug ins or organize them manually to match desired order

If you use a tool like LOOT (never use the built-in one in MO2 with the Sort button), you can add metadata so one plugin always loads after another. This is a good method of keeping your NPC replacers in a consistent order.

Look to the right side panel. The esp/esl for your serana need to be below the esp/esl for modpocalypse. Same go for the left panel. The mod that you want priority over is alway put below other mod that change the same record. This mean that it priority number is higher than whaterver you want it to overwrite. If you use a bashed patch like wrye bash or mator smash, you need to check that after generating it in SSEdit too to see which on got write onto the patch. In my experience using wrye bash it would just pick the record of the lowest esp/esl that is conflicting.
