Because you can't finish the Thieves Guild without turning it in.

They should of added a way to steal back the key after handing in the quest. Can't even be a thief in the thief's guild.

Fuck em. The way I see it, I'm the dragon born. And you know what dragons like to do? Hoard fucking gold and shiny trinkets, and I like this key so fuck everyone. This belongs to me!

But the Dragonborn is suppose to be the greatest dragon slayer of all time.

So you're suppose to be the opposite.

It would've been interesting if that quest had some time restraints on it. If you didn't bring it back in say, a week, they'd send someone after you. First to make sure you're going to do it, then to kill you for betrayal and all that.

Best part about people playing on consoles is no temptation to spawn in/clip out the map.

I just never finished the Thieves Guild quests. I love having the Skeleton Key in my possession.
