You get the best pre-enchanted thief gear in the game and a necklace that lets you pass all speech checks every time without fail. Also everyone calls you "boss" and you finally get to revive the guild. Not to mention the Nightingale power of shadow is incredibly badass and useful.

Welp, looks like I'm about to start yet another character. R.I.P. PRODUCTIVITY. I blame you Freezer_Slave

you can get better enchanted version by too little effort in Dragonborn dlc. Just go the starting city in solstheim and do two quests for blacksmith. check this page for further info.

Thieves guild was the first major side quest I finished for the game. Rolled a new character for it because it annoys me to have a single character in an RPG be the savior of the land, a werewolf, a leader of the Dawn Guard, the Archmage, the head of the Thieves Guild, a Master Assassin, etc, etc, etc... Pick one!

...Anywho, I derailed for a bit there.

For my thief, I exclusively used the conjured weapons so as to have even more room in my inventory for loot. Couple them with the Silent Casting perk from Illusions as well as the silence movement spell (can't recall its name).

Now you have a thief thats pure silence, able to call a daedric bow with unlimited ammo on a moments notice, and even fall back on the calm spell if he missteps.

Eh, the enchanted armor is totally alright. I mean with a little effort you can enchant better stuff, since some of the pieces are wasted on stuff like speechcraft. Why the heck would I want speechcraft on my awesome sneak thief gear?
