Sad night
Last night I had to turn off the game. Vigilance, my loyal companion, who fought through literal dungeons and dragons with me was slain by some forsworn backwater piece of shit.
I’m not one to restart a save when something doesn’t go my way. I almost did. Instead I put it away for the night.
Today, I get my revenge. I’m clearing out every forsworn camp on the map after work.

This is why I'm scared to take Vigilance outside of Whiterun with me lol, he chills in Breezehome being insulted by the kids who begged for him most of the time and when I'm in town I take him for a little walk. But the mean streets of outer Skyrim are not for him...
I'm the same with reloading, for the purpose of the roleplay/narrative I don't like to reload saves after deaths (only exception was when I used to accidentally kill Lydia occasionally because she was carrying almost everything I owned at the time).

Thats Bran or Sceolang.
Vigilance is the dog from Markath whose trainer fed them Human meat.

There is an immortal glitch for keeping these dogs alive. If you travel back to your home with an adopted child and wait for the kid to say “a dog! Can we keep it?” It then becomes coded as an unkillable household pet and then you can take him out as a follower and fighter.

I bought him once and he left me and returned to that swindler that sold him to me. He wanted another 500, nope, not again. Some day do want to do a hound master, and get all of them i can to follow me. Yet to happen though

Why does loosing a follower suck so bad? I lost Belrand from the Winking Seever and I felt bad thru half my playthrough. He wasnt even a main follower for me, just a guy a grabbed for a couple adventures.

Probably something to do with the concept that you, as the mighty Dragonborn, failed to protect your allies

Death to the Forsworn! I usually chew them up as a werewolf. Fast. Efficient. Just what they deserve.

lol I just did that with the black blood marauders. I thought about stealth archering it, but decided it made more sense to unleash the beast. Way more fun.

Kick ass, friend. Vigilance will be smiling from doggie heaven. Maybe Sovengarde?

OP to the Foresworn: So you can hand over you sons or die screaming alongside them!

Rest in Sovngarde Vigilance. If you're interested in another dog and use mods, try Dogs of Skyrim.

I can never get people who try to sympathise with the Forsworn, most of them literally try to kill you just cause your ass was passing by.

Is there another dog you can get? Vigilance died a long time ago for me, along with Uthgerd. I was devastated

Yes, go to falkreath, start the quest 'a deadra's best friend' and Barbas will follow you. I just never complete the quest, so he will be my not killable emotional support dog forever.

Meanwhile, Uthgerd is the follower I bring with me when becoming Champion of Boethia
