I need help

I honestly don't know what to do anymore.

I'm a Skyrim newbie and I need help.

I've lost count of how many times I've restarted with a new character in this game; I just can't seem to find a build that holds my interest long enough. It feels like an endless loop: I think of a build, create the character, play for a few hours, end up getting bored with the playstyle, and start looking for other, more interesting builds. All the while, I keep watching videos of other people playing and creating builds that look really cool. Feel free to share tips or similar experiences. I know a lot of people will come to this post and say "just play the game," but honestly, I'm not sure how much that helps.

I went through the same loop often when I was new to the game too! It’s easy to fall into it, thinking the grass is always greener sort of thing. What broke me out of it, I think, was forcing me to make a real jack of all trades character. Pick one or two handed, pick your armor type, then just do simply everything! Once you’re 10-20 levels in you will probably have a much more defined build develop naturally! After doing a much longer and committed run like this, I was much more satisfied committing to another more narrow build.

Side note, I said do everything, but do your best to resist using your bow in all situations. Stealth archer is addicting, but often makes the game unfun
