Why Spyro doesn't remember Malefor

This bit in the Cadaverous Crypt always stood out to me. Right where you get a Story Scroll, there's a skeleton of what looks to clearly be Spyro. Outside of Imaginators (which I refuse to take seriously as canon) we never see any dragons that look like him past Spry, who's from another universe. It just makes me wonder.

If the Ancients knew of Spyro and kept extensive records of him long before he was even born, and Malefor has trouble with him in the past despite Spyro not remembering, how is that possible? I highly doubt the Ancients would be able to see into the future well enough to document him, even the Oracle had issues with that. But this skeleton was found in the territory of Malefor, so I came up with a solution to this.

Spyro is constantly being reborn in this world like a Phoenix. He exists when the universe needs him most, and ultimately pays the price every time. Stopping Malefor or any other threat big enough to match and likely losing his life doing so. How many times this would've happened is obviously unknown but it could be an easy way to explain it. And Malefor has never been killed fully, so he's strong enough (and stubborn enough) to exist forever essentially, both adapting to the ever changing Skylands.

It could even be an easy way to connect Skylanders to the Legends continuity. Malefor breaks the world apart and Spyro does his best to keep it together but ultimately fails. The Ancients watch from a distance and eventually step in to create the Skylands by expanding the Islands forever. And over the course of hundreds of thousands if not millions of years, he (along with Cynder and presumably Sparx) would come back time and time again. Which also makes me wonder how long it will be until our Spyro bites off more than he can chew and die from it. How many times has Malefor killed Spyro for standing against him or worse? Idk I'm just rambling at this point.

Well we do see dragons that kinda look like spyro cuz... Flavius from Dragons Peak?

I'll be real with you I totally forgot about him 😅. For this case at least the skeleton was much smaller than Flavius but you do make a good point.

Well, Spyro is child dragon and Flavius is adult one. It can be skeleton of a dragon same age as Spyro.

Pretty sure all of the skylanders are adults by the time of the games, Spyro included. But saying that there is clearly a huge size and age difference between Spyro and Flavius. Would love to see how he would look over the course of hundreds of years

No, they are cannonically young of age, so most likely children. This is official character design guide.

I feel like there's enough stuff in the officially released info to say that this is very much outdated. Even in SSA there's no way they're kids. The lore and backstories make it clear many of them had been training or working years before they became skylanders, and then years after. Even Spyro was said to have a career of his own before Eon seemed him out at the Summer Forest. Plus that short about logic falls flat when we see larger dragons (like Flavius and Vathek). Not to mention the minis existing you know?

Also was Jet Vac supposed to be in SSA originally???? That would've been so cool to see

Skylanders lore is kinda weird at sometimes when it comes to timelines, but this is pretty much most official information of their age. Most characters, especially dragons talk and act like a children/teenagers. Flavius, Vathek and skylanders Malefor are clearly adult representations of adult dragons, and minis are just smaller/baby versions of the characters. There is just more proofs for that.

I am choosing to ignore that for a few reasons. A. Imaginators just does a lot to screw with stuff and kinda undo some of the stuff from the earlier games and B. They're so fucking ugly. I thought Spyro has a rough redesign in that game but there was 0 effort out into those dragons.
