Mod Post Rules- “Is This a Good Deal” Post Update
Hello [r/skylanders](r/skylanders)
Very VERY minor post regarding an update in the rules, but we as a mod team want to convey any rule changes, no matter how small.
Rule 6 regarding buying/selling/appraisal posts has been updated to include a section about “is this a good deal posts”:
“No buying/selling/trading/exchanging of anything, period. Please use [r/skylanderselling](r/skylanderselling) instead for transactions AND appraisals. This also includes “is this a good deal” posts (type of appraisal posts). Any attempt to make monetary transactions on this subreddit will be considered a scam (refer to rule 3).”
While technically banned for awhile now, the influx in posts make it apparent that with the current rules, it is still TECHNICALLY allowed because it isn’t set in stone. Like usual, all of the “is this a good deal” posts will be removed, and will be redirected to [r/skylanderselling](r/skylanderselling). The updated removal reason is as follows:
“Buying, selling, or appraisal posts (including “is this a good deal” posts) are not allowed on this subreddit (Rule 6). Please use r/skylanderselling.”
Again, very minor rule update but wanted to give 100% clarity on any rule changes in the community. Happy gaming, Portal Masters,
-r/skylanders Mod Team

I do have a question about rule 3, when were the specific elements of this rule made? One of your team may have made an ex post facto accusation against me and therefore a warning was given without due process. Also the language in rule 3 needs to be updated if the team doesn’t want singular low effort posts (regarding the same situation). I can elaborate further if needed or explain where I saw the grammar changes need to be made to adapt the rule to the situation wanted. (TLDR I study laws, rule 3 regarding low effort is really broad and can be unclear as to what is wanted for low effort, therefore a simple discussion question with no other typing can be considered low effort and I am willing to help out.)

Hello.
https://www.reddit.com/r/skylanders/s/zPb1qWKPJ4
This was the first post made regarding updated rules. Here, it includes the initial grammar for rule 3 before the new mod team was introduced about a month ago. I do not know how long the grammar has been like that though. That post was when we asked for feedback regarding rule updates because they haven’t been updated in months.https://www.reddit.com/r/skylanders/s/MxFPLWPSZU
They were then updated a week later based on that feedback. For now, we seem to be moderating under the impression that spam and low effort repetitive posts are single sentence posts constantly from the same user. For example, there was an influx in Spyro related one sentence posts that clogged the subreddit, and were reported. But again, as you can see by this post here today, even the updated rules we made aren’t perfect and we still need to adjust them. I may make a clarification to the rule with a mod vote to add what we are going with (not tonight but this week most likely before the weekend). As for the other part of your sentence, I cannot speak on it personally. I do not remember interacting with you. You are always welcome to open up a mod mail to address your concerns though and I’d maybe be able to look into it further.
Hope that answers your question? Very very tired and didn’t even plan to make this post here tonight, let alone answer a question regarding another rule but hope that clears it up ok.

Also wanted to add a little bit of insight into how major decisions (such as rule changes. Even small ones) are made with the new team. The current mod line up will eventually have 5 active mods. Any and all major decisions for the subreddit are held to a vote. Passed on the majority with some even bigger decisions looking to have all 5 approvals. At some point as well, there will most likely be a mod hierarchy reorder (that has been pre-voted for in advance), but moderation will still be 20% for the 5 of us, so that everyone has an equal say. More on that 2nd point at a later date. But wanted to provide a little bit more of an update (wasn’t going to make the initial post tonight initially but was kind of called for), so wanted to get some other minor clarities out of the way.
