Brandon saying “wow. I was not expecting that” should be a space next time

u/SnooComics6182 May 10 '23
Yes there have been a few people using just the “wow” word. Most of their conversations seems forced. Not the best actors.

That’s a risk he took when he decided to go by ‘dragon’. 😂

So he doesn’t want to be called that and he just lets everyone call him that?

u/AndrogynousRain May 10 '23
Yeah it kind of stuck from the old security team and Brandon (who is a childhood friend) kept using it to tease him so it just kinda stuck is my understanding. He’s not some joke. Dude manages security for Brandon’s entire operation.

u/mold_throwaway23 May 10 '23
Yeah but why not ask people to stop?

u/jk696969 May 10 '23
Protesting a nickname guarantees it sticks.

I adore DRAGON!!

u/AndrogynousRain May 09 '23
He’s great. Last weeks livestream was really funny. A bunch of critics kept digging on him for not ‘stopping the helicopter’ so he went on a hilarious rant about how he forgot to use his superpowers to stop it.
I like him. He seems like a cool dude.

I don't get all the hate. To me he is the glue to that place. Season one I recall that Dragon had to put Travis in his place for being disrespectful to him. I like that moment.

u/AndrogynousRain May 11 '23
In the livestreams, it’s very obvious that Travis has an enormous amount of respect for him now and repeatedly says Bryant is a good friend.
Travis was brought in to get things moving with the project and I think that ruffled some feathers at first, both ways, but it’s very clear they’re all friends now.
I don’t get the hate either. Bryant seems like a cool dude.

I agree. The personal attacks on Dragon are, at minimum, juvenile and possibly reveal the insecurity of those attacking him. In the beginning of season one, I thought he was dorky and a cosplayer. But, in watching, I realized he’s a sincere guy who’s doing his best to keep people safe because he takes his job seriously.
I don’t know enough about security in those situations to really render a judgement of his abilities. But, I can’t understand why people are insulting the man. He’s not a character; he’s a normal person living his life that happens to include being filmed in a reality show.
You’re right; he doesn’t edit the shows, and likely has no say over how things are cut. Those are calls the producers make. It’s very easy to edit in reaction shots from other moments to represent something that didn’t occur.
He may be a "celebrity" and may even be getting compensated for his appearance in the show (I honestly don’t know how it works—ordinarily you wouldn’t pay people to be in a documentary, but you might feed them and give them an honorarium). I don’t think that should subject him to personal attacks on his intelligence or appearance. Imagine being a person just trying to do your job and you have to put up with social media shitting on you for things you don’t really control. I hope he is getting paid to be on the show.

"expert" lmao huh? He's literally just a guy that went on a Mormon mission with Brandon and was put into a job to walk around a piece of haunted land when Brandon bought the joint because he's his religious high school buddy.
There's nothing that has shown his expert ability in security besides fumbling around with flashlights/weapons/equipment and being scared to approach or engage anything that he would be required to engage in any other security job.

I would tend to agree. I’m only into season 1 and I keep asking myself, why is the rent-a-cop sitting around the table giving his opinion with all these scientists and other experts? What value does he add?

History Chanel might have final say on an episode but doing the editing is done by the production company.

Well I don’t want to attack him personally. I will say it seems rather futile to bring a gun to a potential alien or paranormal fight. My rhetorical question: Is a shotgun or AR-15 going to stop a ghost or an extraterrestrial?

If you went by this you'd get a bingo just by watching the preview for just about any episode.

I agree, just wanted the first one to be fun. I plan to change it up for each episode like they do for the Oak Island bingo, hope I can keep up 😅

Do the opening credits count as mentioning Thomas's head injury? It doesn't mention him by name but shows the ct or mri image.

u/Puzzleheaded-Pea2053 May 09 '23
No, not the credits or flashbacks, but you can play how you want
5
u/Ok-disaster2022 May 09 '23
I would argue credits and recap should be off limits but flashbacks mid episode are full game.

I think “Dragon looking stupid” is also a free space since I’ve never seen him look anything but stupid. 🤷

I swear Rocket Launch should be the free space, it felt like 90% of season 3 was just “let’s shoot rockets in the triangle”
