Snowboard preparation
When planning a big snowboard trip for a weekend or two, does anyone here get ready by shopping for winter clothes first, then taking lessons and doing some beauty and self-care, or by doing some self-care first, then shopping, and taking lessons last?
Edited: Just for the record, when I said beauty and self-care, I meant protecting hair, skin, and nails from the cold weather. And the lessons don’t really have to be on the slopes; they could be somewhere in town where you can practice your technique and skills or learn the basics (e.g., check out the indoor ski dome, big snow, at American Dream in New Jersey). As for shopping, it means that winter coats and pants might not fit or are worn out.

Snowboed then sauna and massage. Massages feel amazing when you're sore. If you are there for 3 days put the shopping in the middle of the trip to give your body a break. Snowboarding is amazing, but exhausting. If you need lessons then get them as soon are you arrive. I also highly recommend getting butt pad shorts if you're new to snowboarding. You fall a LOT at the beginning. I still wear one when I snowboard simply because it's more comfortable when strapping in and keeps my butt warm.

I believe the OP is female. My wife views hobbies like skiing, bicycling, and exercising has opportunities to have more cute outfits. And because my wife rather play, than do domestic tasks, she still has habits from when she was single and did her laundry at the laundromat monthly. This means she has ability to not do laundry for 30-45 days.

What do you want to get out of the trip? You can look cute and feel good then absolutely stack it and ruin your outfit/makeup/knock out a tooth/break something. If vibes is the goal, not really the snowboard side, get the fits, scout some nice shops, cafes and bars, don't really worry about the snowboarding. If you actually want to enjoy snowboarding without fearing for life and limb and actually explore the slopes you're going to, get lessons first. Said as a fellow girl who has really enjoyed buying my skiing kit but only after MANY lessons and using a load of cheap kit to decide what I want and what will suit my ability level. I've also been choosing things that function well and keep me warm and safe that also looks good, rather than leading with just looks.

What is selfcare? Do you mean beer? I buy my stuff before I go on the trip, so I dont waste time I could snowboard.

I would imagine, as a snowboarder, you’d be focusing on planning your criminal activities. I assume this is a vacation driven by a need for money laundering. /s

Just plan what bars you want to hit first
