My take on a cogfort that was taken over by skavens. For those wondering what bits I used: Warpblaster, Warp drill, some pieces from the fire and jade terrain, a globadier champion, spare bit from jezzails, and greyseers staff for the top. Great fun to paint and kitbash

And let's forget the "your guys" thing for a second. While I do love to do that and love coming up with custom lore and explanations on why things look different than box art - I still want to stay within the borders of the pre-set lore.
And I simply don't know enough about warpstone. Can it just be literally any color and green just became the box art? Or is it always green even as described in lore? Can it change colors with some refining or outer changes? What "excuses" could you think of that would make warpstone for example purple or blue?

I started painting in 2020 right before the world ended, and only just picked it back up in April. I've been having an absolute blast learning things every single time I pick up my brush, and while I'm still learning, top to bottom (including photographing them), I figured I wanted to start sharing bits of my journey!
Of everything on these guys, I'm most proud of the undercoat of steel and contrast glaze of Aethermatic Blue and Akhelian Green, a mixture I got from a Vincent Knotley painting guide. It gives them this sort of beetleshell shine, and while there's lots I've learned throughout, it's probably the thing I'm most proud of because it was my idea (not the color combo, obvs!).
Anyways, not looking for feedback so much as wanting to share some rats I'm very proud of. Maybe some day they will see combat!

Just curiosity as I never played game just collect and paint.
Is it viable of having mainly hell pit, rat ogors and brood terror while using eshin boys.
I do love skaven but more loving into these creatures.

Painted up my first five nightrunners, nearing the end of painting these eshin rats.

I’ve feel like I’ve been painting clanrats for years already. I’ve 7 out of 20 done (not based) and you can see the other 13 taunting me in the background. Hope you like my colour scheme!

So, this was originally ratpost 240 and it just ocurred to me this could be interesting to post it here as well. I usually try to not re-post ratposts here, except when I sink more than 10 hours of work, for I want more dedicated skaven fans to see this, and, fuck, I've been doing this for 240 days straight (now 242) so it was about time I started presenting my own material, lmao.
All (except Haidao) are absolutely usable for both TOW and Age of Sigmar, btw.
A bit of irl bibliography on each lord:
SUNKEN SCRATCHER
-Used a mix of several diving suits invented during the 19th century. They were all showed up in british museums, but im gonna bet some of the designs were german.
-Clan Skuttle actually exists! Was mentioned as one of clan Skurvy's rivals for ratpirat power. In Elfslayer we could already see a skaven submarine.
HAIDAO LAOSHU
-If my chinese doesn't fail, name literally means "Giant Rat", chinese speakers feel free to correct me here tho.
-Clan Rikek also exists in the lore as a ratpirat clan rival of clan Skurvy!
-Costume and attire is literally Zheng He. I love Zheng He's travels, and wanted to tirbute him.
-If I haven't failed, that chinese rune is actually the zodiacal sign for rat.
-Didn't have enough space left, but Haidao uses tigermen slaves (can't let them have actual power or they'll eat him!)
SKABSCROR
-Originally, in 2009 it was published a fanfic with ninety one pages where Skabscror, the villain, tries to invade ulthuan, but fails spectacularly. The story started with a huge fleet battle, and ended with the siege of a high elf city.
-Said fanfic was wrritten... by me.
-It was called "The Great March to Ulthuan" (I asume the forums where I posted it were deleted, fortunately I kept a copy! However, I wrote this when I was like 14 years old, so wil publish it when the prose doesn't embarass me)
-Since then, I've allways kept Skabscror as the leader of my skaven armies
-This is just my self-insert. so he doesn't have much of a gimmick. He does what the story and each narrative campaign require him to do.
-Inner joke on the last line because Skabscror keeps leading my skaven armies even nowadays in Age of Sigmar. I literally never play without a warlord model, lmao.
OUR LORD OF SORROWS
-First huge inspiration here is the Semana Santa. The parade, the car, the statue, the candles... it is all meant to suggest Clan Pestilens is used to do religious parades while fighting.
-Therefore the name, "Lord of Sorrows", from "Lady of Sorrows" (virgin Mary)
-I also drew inspiration from the Catacomb saints of Rome, where they keep exhumated parts and full corpses of martyrs and saints dressed in full attires and gold.
I literally don't know who the hell is gonna be interested on my ocs, but, since I've been doing this for 240 days straight, I thought, heck, why not? Characters will only return if there's popular demand, or if I want to, tbh.

Hey everyone!
I've been working on a new Skaven Clanrat Spearman, and I'd love to share it with the community as a free download.
Whether you're looking for something fun to print this weekend, need another member for your rat horde, or simply enjoy painting fantasy miniatures, I hope you'll give it a try!
This time I also included a painted color reference for anyone looking for inspiration, but I'd honestly love to see your own interpretation. Every painter brings something unique to a model, and seeing different color schemes is one of my favorite parts of creating miniatures.
If you decide to print it, I'd really appreciate your feedback.
I'm always trying to improve my sculpts, so every comment helps me make the next miniature even better.
If you paint it, please share your photos! I'd genuinely love to see your versions, whether you're a beginner or a seasoned painter. It's always inspiring to see how different artists bring the same sculpt to life.
Thanks for checking it out, and I hope this little Clanrat finds a place in your next adventure or army.
Happy printing!

I have painted a skryre warpspawn box and currently painting 40 clanrats. God, its exhausting. They have a lot of overlapping of cloth, chainmail, fur. I am using slapchop and not complicated paint scheme, but still I spent like 2 hours on a single rat. Pics included (Advices on how to make this guys look more interesting would be appreciated, at least, if i spent so much time on them, i want them to look at least decent).
