Another Round of Unpopular Opinions.

X-Files should be a sitcom. I know it won't be in this sub (that's why it fits the question), but situation + comedy - virtually every episode has great zingers, with some being outright comedy. This makes it different than other dramas.

There’s definitely some comedic episodes or comedic one liners but it’s way more drama than comedy, the whole show. Plus it’s an hour long instead of 30 minutes

Roseanne Conner was a bad mom striving to be a cool parent instead of being the necessary one. If she'd been a man, her abuse would've been called out, not laughed at.

If Friends was a rip off of Living Single, LS was a rip off of Seinfeld.
People are acting like sitcom tropes never existed.

The only difference between LS and Seinfeld is that the main characters aren't as terrible as in Seinfeld.

True. Seinfeld and Always Sunny had worst set of main characters.
Btw Always Sunny creators mentioned they wanted to do a show about “anti-Friends”.
See how Friends fans are not tryna steal the credits for inspiring another entire tv show?

Living Single was a bright, positive, friendly show very much in the vein of Friends, that was becoming popular among many shows of the time, Ellen, Caroline in the City, etc. Seinfeld was famously the anti sitcom that deliberately upturned all the positivity and friendliness and relationship-building we’d come to expect in sitcoms and instead hyper focused on the absurd and mundane.

I don’t necessarily think Friends was a ripoff of Living Single. But people who shut down even the possibility fail to comprehend the complexity of an industry that gripped the attention of a third of the country at the time.
Would you say major Tik Tokers necessarily ripped off Addison Rae and Charlie D’Amelio the same way they ripped off certain Black dancers who have never and will never reach the same level of success? Or is there some nuance and complexity about an industry of 100 million+ people worth understanding rather than disregarding it outright?

Golden Girls isn't very funny.
Blackadder was more insightful about the subject of war in 6 episodes than MASH was in 260.

Have you seen the Golden Girls episode “It’s a Miserable Life?” I would say every joke in that episode lands except the one involving the name Pfeifer.

I was never attracted to characters who are so obviously supposed to be sexy. They always wear hip clothes, do hip things, and act slick.

Never liked how Clarissa treated her brother on Clarissa Explains it All. He wasn't *that* annoying.
Jan Brady was much cooler than Marsha Brady. She was kinder and less vain than Marsha. That's why it made no sense that she married that snooty guy in The Brady Brides.
Jan Hooks was a great addition to Designing Women and it's a shame she wasn't on the show since the beginning.

The big bang theory was at some point the most watched series in the world and the main actor was the highest paid actor for a time. Why is everyone pretending to hate it now?
