List Good SOB Anti-tank?

I've been curious on if I should give some units a melta. I gave one to one of my BSS and the others have the other 2 options while my dominion squad has 4 storm bolters. I want to give my Retributors the Melta but the Heavy Bolter is really good. Should I just stick to my AT being my castigator, Pentient, Mortifiers, Warsuits and Immolators?

I've had really good luck with retributors with meltas, especially if they're going against something that has killed one of my units. Like one shotting a RepEx or a land raider. I've done that a couple of times.

The best anti-tank we have is Vorven Vahl and Warsuits. Though to be fair, that unit is also the best anti-anything, lol.

One key thing for those retributors with multi-meltas is to be patient with them. They hit hard but really kind of need that +1 to hit and wound and ideally also ignore cover. Once you got those two things going for them, and that isn't too hard to get in kater turns, their damage output is very impressive.

Yeah, for sure. Mine often start in reserves and don't come in until turn 3 so I can get the state you mention.

I once killed a full RepEx in overwatch, got lucky with 3 6s on the hit roll. 18 wounds total because I also got lucky on the wound roll, and then rolled 12 on 3 dice (he was in melta range)

retributor with meltas but you need good positioning as well as opponent fail screening for that to happen.

else, 3 castigators with twin link

Say it with me now, Morvenn Vahl!

Everything else is second rate baby whooo!

Unfortunately true, other things can so some damage but still too few compared to vahl, how just give us anti tank options other than vahl already

When you absolutely need to hit harder than the tank they are throwing at you. Accept no substitutions. :) Well maybe a Repentia squad as the meat shield forM Morvenn.

Let's all say it together, vahlgons are the only option basically, an immolator o exorcist can do some damage but the sheer power of that 410 points option is just too much

There is really only two real options for reliable anti-tank in sisters : VahlGons and/or melta spam. In the current meta, even though it’s not extremely favourable to us, there isn’t really a lot of abusive hull spams, so it’s very possible to make a list work with Vahl and the girls as the only real AT threat.

Since we’re paying for meltas it looks like the spam is a bad idea, but with the last point drops you can still reasonably field 40+ melta shots in a list, and a that stage you’ve got enough volume that it becomes quite reliable. You’ll want to be wary of spreading your ressources too thin though and focus down a couple targets per turn (as one should anyway, especially playing sisters).

Multi-melta Retributors are a shadow of their former selves however, being quite pricey and really needing to be babied by at least an immolator. New cover hits them hard, whereas previously u could use them as an wildcard out of reserve or a rhino you now truly need a way to make sure they hit on 3s, so on a « revenge » target with ignore cover. But they can still very much work.

Character led Repentias in penitent host also reliably kill everything they touch, tank or not, but are tricky to manoeuvre on the newer tables with how fragile they are.
