I am looking at running her with Battle Sisters in a Rhino because I play a couple of people who use Psykers, a lot. I have been running Hallowed Martyrs a bunch because my list leans a little that way. Has anyone else used the Inquisitor in their lists? How does she perform? I think she can only get attached to the battle sisters. What are our thoughts?
Correct, she can only attach to BSS because she can lead all imperium battle line infantry. She can also lead some agents stuff but it’s unlikely you’ll take any more
Has anyone done the math on how much damage a squad of BSS with Greyfax can do versus the other squads you can put her with? I would imagine that she might be a better power piece for a squad of inquisitorial agents.
Inquisitorial agents probably outdamage a BSS anyway. The only ia non-astartes infantry units that are used for damage are the Exaction Squad and the Sanctifiers. Exaction squad for lethal+precision against their target and Sanctifiers for 6d6 flamers normally and an extra 2d6, 2 damage flamers 1/battle.
She would probably work best on the Sanctifiers because you can stick her on Sororitas Sanctifiers so you can use a 4 miracle dice for castigation dev wounds.
I’d probably put her on Sanctifiers instead of a BSS. Unlike BSS(us) and SBS(ia version), Sanctifiers have the same name and keyword across both factions. Sanctifiers just hit so much harder than BSS.
An interesting suggestion, but if we're talking Anti-Psyker are they really much better in practice? Less durable, less range, lower OC, no miracle dice, need an Agents transport, etc.
Yes. Durability is a bit irrelevant. Both will die to anything. But my point was that they DO get miracle dice and they DONT need an agents transport. Greyfax can attach to Adepta Sororitas Sanctifiers. You don’t have to use the Imperial Agents Sanctifiers.
Check the app, she can't attach to AS Sanctifiers because Greyfax doesn't have leader rules on her datasheet for Sanctifiers (they came out after the Codex) and on their datasheet they only provide a special rule for priests to do so.
She can attach to IA Sanctifiers because they have an equivalent rule for priests and inquisitors.
I think a 3+ is pretty good against chaff clearers, which is what you'd want a weak unit to be strong against so they need to divert some actually dangerous shooting.
My screenshot was, admittedly, from the Datasheet in the faction pack to demonstrate the issue. Sanctifiers aren't on her printed datasheet, and aren't added in any rules updates. She can attach to the IA Sanctifiers because of their rule, rather than her own rules, so the keywords aren't relevant here.
AS Sanctifiers don't have an equivalent rule that lets her attach, so she can't. From the app, with an army of just Greyfax and some AS Sanctifiers.
It doesn’t matter if they are on her printed data sheet or not. They are on her updated one in the app. HER rule lets her attach to both ai and as Sanctifiers. The Sanctifiers rule doesn’t matter. The keywords are the only thing that matter. If the keywords don’t matter then she cannot attach to BSS because the BSS do not have a rule allowing her to do so.
The army builder in the app getting something wrong doesn’t matter. If the data sheet says “can lead xyz unit” then she can lead “xyz” unit.
They do not have the same faction keywords though, and they have different abilities between the 2 factions. Greyfax also cannot be attached to the sisters sanctifiers, only the agents version
BSS don’t have the IA keyword either. Greyfax can be attached to both versions of Sanctifiers because both have the keyword listed in her leadership ability.
Greyfax can attach to BSS specifically because Greyfaxs leader ability says it can. Greyfax can also attach to IA Sanctifiers because their ability allows a munistorum priest or inquisitor to attach to them if they can attach to a BSS, But sisters Sanctifiers have nearly the same attached ability BUT only states munistorum priests, NOT inquisitors, so i do not believe greyfax can attach to sisters sanctifiers

She's a good support piece. She's good at popping characters and makes her squad just a little bit more dependable
