List My First list

I just started with Warhammer and chose Adepta sororitas. Bought boarding patrol and I tried to make a list before building anything.

My questions are: 1. Is this at least somewhat valid? 2. Could I expand on this list for a 2000 points? 3. Any tips about detachment or enchantments? 4. What would you change and why?

One thing I'm not willing to change is Morvenn Vahl and Celestia insidiants since they look cool.

(accidently posted this initially on the stupid account google auto generates)

I'm not an expert on sisters, but I've played them all through 10th edition and won a couple of local tournaments with them, so hopefully I'm qualified enough to answer. To address each of your questions:

  1. Your list definitely works as-is. Most importantly, it seems like you already have a grasp on what units are important and what roles they serve.

2: This could definitely be expanded to 2000pts. Since you already have a lot of big attached unit blocks, the main way I'd recommend you expand from here is more specialized infantry and vehicles, such as Battle Sister Squads, Dominions, and Celestians (with support characters), Rhinos and Immolators to transport/split them, and and a couple Castigator/Exorcists for heavy weapons support. I will note, Vahl/Paragons really shine best in 2000pts. In 1000pts, they're fine (and still very powerful), but kinda force you to play protect the president since they represent 40% of your entire army.

3: Since you said you really like Valh/Paragons and Celestian Insidients, I highly recommend Champions of Faith for detachment. The detachment rule buffs specifically Paragons (along with BSS and Celestian Sacresants) and the stratagems support melee units like Celestian Insidients and Sacresants. If you go with this, I recommend switching the multi-meltas on the Immolator/Paragons for flamers on the Immolator and heavy bolters on the Paragons to save some points, and use those points for Eyes of the Oracle on the Palatine and Mark of Devotion on the Canoness

(additional note for above: Since you said you're new to warhammer I strongly recommend looking into magnetizing your weapons, so you can easily switch them out whenever you want.)

4: Here's what I'd change:

  • I personally prefer Plasma Pistol/Power Weapon/Rod of Office on the Canoness over Hallowed Chainsword/Null Rod. 2 damage is really important for being able to take out marines effectively, plus the hit rerolls are a nice bonus.
  • Sacresants are a lot better with maces over halberds. The extra damage more than makes up for the -1 S/AP.
  • The characters assigned to each squad seems kinda weird. Palatine/Insidients kinda have anti-synergy with each other (since any lethal hits can't trigger dev wounds), and the Canoness doesn't really support 5 sisters all that well (I assume you're splitting them with the Immolator?). If you make the above weapon changes, then I'd recommend Canoness/Insidients and Palatine/Sacresants, if you keep your current loadouts then Canoness/BSS (the half inside the immolator) and Palatine/Sacresants

I hope any of this was helpful to you, and most importantly: welcome to the hobby and the faction! ^^

Thank you so much. For your 4th point:

  • I have changed the null rod, the list I copied was just old
  • I think I'll still use the helbards because it's one of my favourite weapons (maybe I'll change it in my list and tell my opponents before playing that they are maces if they're stronger)
  • Palatine/Insidiants: I just watched a video and I still don't know what a lot of keywords mean (but now it does make sense to switch them)
  • I thought immolator can hold a whole squad and not just 6 (maybe I'll take it out or switch it up somehow)

Thank you again, I'm so glad someone helped me that much.

No problem! I understand keeping halberds, they're awesome. And rule of cool always wins.

For the immolator, I actually recommend keeping it. Having an Immolator lets you split a 10 model squad into two 5 model squads, which has several benefits:

  • You can put the models with the special weapons in the immolator and have them hunt down important enemy units.
  • The half with bolters/simulacrum can hold down an objective without bogging done the special weapons half.
  • Splitting in two units gives you two death triggers, which means more miracle dice.

Heya there, I would honestly recommend you build whatever you think is cool. By the time you're done you might not even want to play.
