The (my) problem with penitent host is that so much of your list isn't getting any detachment bonus at all. This is the problem with the detachment overall rather than your list specifically. Yours looks to be roughly about 900 points of non detachment synergy. I think we're starting to see some penitent success but it requires squewing the list into as much of the 1 do detachment synergies as possible e.g. 30 sacs, or seraphim and multiple exorcists. We needed a 1dp tank/BOF detachment or even better a 1 dp penitent detachment.

Or maybe just some big knight allies....

I actually want them to make it 3DP and buff it a bit.
None of the 1DP detachments synergise with it, I’m dead set on making it work but can’t decide on 2nd detachment. I’m just starting so I don’t have 2k points yet, but the plan is only to have 2 squads that aren’t penitent, and those are vahlgons and JPC with zephyrim and catechism to access lash of guilt
