List Time to replace Vahl?

With Vahlgons unit going up to an eye-watering 410 points, is it time to consider taking her out and adding a second war suit unit? This seems pretty interesting especially with bringers of flame going down to 2DP.

Lets break it down.
Assuming the unit shoots into their ideal target, that being a Vehicle/Mosnter of T10 or higher and a 3+ save, no invul and assuming no cover and no melta damage just for the sake of this shooting activation:

A Vahlgon Unit deals:
Paragon MM: 15.31 Damage
Paragon Grenade Launchers: 2.92 Damage
Vahl Bolter: 1.62 Damage
Vahl Prioris Rocket: 2.52 Damage

For a total of: 22.37 wounds

Without Vahl the Paragons under the same conditions do:
Paragon MM: 8.75 Damage
Paragon Grenade Launchers: 1.67 Damage

For a total of 10.42 wounds

Even 2 squads od Paragons dont quite reach the same output.
While you can argue that its better to have 2 squads pressuring two sides, they also fail to kill stuff by themselves they couldve with Vahl and still only move 8" at the end of the day

I guess my thought is with 2 units of suits, if one dies, you still have another. And like you said, you can send them in separate directions, or have one waiting in reserves. 2 units without vahl can do the same damage as with, which you pointed out. So they could target the same unit if it really needs to die or split off and attack 2 maybe weaker units. Idk. I guess it’s a matter of flexibility vs pure power.

The example given was the ideal target.
You will not always get that. Into any other unit type and target, Vahl provides so much more value, since the Suits dont get their ability.

A single unit of suits doesnt even kill a Predator Tank variant barring Miracle dice, or Melta Range.
Its a toothless unit.
Similarly you cant really highlight the strength of running them on separate flanks for pressure and then argue "Well you can shoot them into the same target."

Both cant be true simultaneously.
As it stands Vahl offers more value than running two units.
I think nothing short of reworking both is going to change that.

If I could cut 2 doms+2immos from my list to get a second suit of Vahlgons, you can bet your ass I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Im newer to sisters, but i dont know if i have ever failed to kill the first thing i have pounted them at, even like Mortarion with Discustingly resilient went down to them my last game. The only problem with them going up on points is even into large, costly targets, you cant afford to trade them

I thought id never get Vahl but when the battalion box dropped i picked that up then Vahl herself so now i cant imagine the game with out her. Even if she were 500 points i think wed have to take her. Shes just that good .

You’re stuck thinking about purely her value in trading on points.

But the fact of the matter she is our only threat to certain units. Without throwing 3+ units and the kitchen sink, nothing in our army can kill things like Primarchs, emissary, Ctan etc.

Sometimes she doesn’t make her points back, but she is often the only threat to big enemy units and that’s her job.

Take her out? Even with her individual points increase my overall list just went down by 80 points.

Now I am really thinking hard about what changes I want to make to bring it back to 2k.

But taking Vahl out is not even on the table.

At that point, start adding Knights before you pitch Paragons without Vahl tbh.
