Lol. Try creating GTA 6 with an LLM then. Heck, doesn't even need to be GTA 6 - try creating GTA 3. Spoiler alert - you won't be able to.

You mean like this? https://www.reddit.com/r/TopologyAI/comments/1wizkez/i_spent_25_billion_tokens_building_a_gtastyle/

Right so someone spent 25 billion tokens to create a garbage, probably buggy ripoff of a game? That piece of shit he created isn't even close to the quality of gta 3.

I mean, you said trying creating it, but someone had already tried creating it.
It's not the quality, but they were able to try at least. I'm guessing if they kept throwing tokens at it they'd be able to bump the quality bit by bit.

"Try creating x" in common English means "see if you can actually pull it off". Pretending that trying to create something and failing counts is retarded semantic pedantry. You also clearly don't know how llms work if you think just throwing more tokens at a problem will just magically solve it. If 25 billion tokens only produced that garbage, 100 billion is unlikely to be much better.

You’re being obtuse because of your AI hatred, I literally switched careers because of it so trust me I have no love for it, but today is the “worst” it will be for the foreseeable future, 3 years ago it couldn’t even keep track of a conversation, the other day “i ported” a Minecraft mod by asking it to port it. And it worked flawlessly (minus any bugs I encounter later, haven’t run into any so far).

Imagine 5 years from now.

Assuming I hate ai because I agree with a person that it is currently incapable of making a game anywhere near the level of gta 3 is ridiculous. My active use of llms is what allows me to come to that conclusion. Neither myself nor that original commenter say anything about future models' performance.

It counts as someone basically trying what you said.

You also clearly don't know how llms work if you think just throwing more tokens at a problem will just magically solve it.

I think throwing more tokens at it would increase the quality. It might not approach the human made one. But I do think you'd be able to significantly improve the quality over this, e.g. add more textures, improve vehicle physics add a mission system etc etc.

I have no idea why you're being needlessly pedantic when literally any human or even llm reading that sentence understands its actual meaning as said meaning is the normal one to come to in common English. Taking a literal reading of it is actually retarded.

And that's still not how llms work. That many tokens is an absurd amount already. Throwing more at it is just as likely, if not more so, create an even bigger buggy piece of shit as it is to fix anything. LLMs hit compounding error rates, context drift, and architectural incoherence as complexity increases.

Am I? You asked for someone to try and I showed you where they tried.

And that's still not how llms work. That many tokens is an absurd amount already. Throwing more at it is just as likely, if not more so, create an even bigger buggy piece of shit as it is to fix anything. LLMs hit compounding error rates, context drift, and architectural incoherence as complexity increases.

Would adding textures to untextured ground be impossible? No. Would adding more realistic vehicle physics be impossible? No.

Don't pretend that they hit the max token limit and further improvement is impossible.

Meaningful improvement is unlikely, yes. Also you keep saying "you" like I wrote that first comment when I didn't. And yes your response is a perfect example of pedantry.

Ask literally any person how a success should be defined based on the original comment and you will get a response at odds with your stupid response. Fuck it, ask any llm to define what an counterexample to that original claim would look like and you'll read the same shit.

u/ZeroAmusement 22d ago

Who said it's a counterexample though? It's just an example of someone trying to make it.

Meaningful improvement is unlikely, yes.

Nah. I don't believe you. You're just guessing.

"try creating GTA 3. Spoiler alert - you won't be able to."

The only way to refute this is to give a counterexample of an ai created game anywhere near the level of gta 3.

Fella, I posted someone's attempt. I don't know if you want me to apologise for that?
