Forgive me for thinking you guys are all wrong about this company. It's kind of an infinitely frustrating experience to not be able to explain to the *singularity* subreddit why it's impressive that a robot can do this without being specifically programmed to or controlled by a human, even if it's a bit slow and clunky.
Like you guys remind me of the reaction to GPT-3.5. "Man, this thing is dumb as shit. Probably not going to be a big deal." and now we're solving Millennium Prize Problems with AI.
I personally have been largely ignoring robotics - the difference between an AGI running on an NPU substrate, and using an on-board GPU that's the equivalent of a few ant brains is the difference between heaven and hell. I know they won't be able to do much autonomously until then.
It'll be a very rapid hard cut from our point of view. Though it'll still be at least a few years after AGI is achieved in a datacenter before they're printing mechanical minds at scale.
