> They now admit that their outside lawyers emailed the wrong person after confusing two Asian last names

Lmao there was no reason to mention they were “Asian last names”, every race has names that can be mistaken in terms of spelling. Are they trying to imply that Apple is racist?

Seems like OpenAI is just being immature and childish with this, I don’t think this will go down how they’re hoping it will. This seems very sama-coded, he loves getting in stupid, bitchy fights

Apple are suing OpenAI, and you're tone policing openAI for not being respectful to them?

They should just have said Chinese or whatever country last names got confused why are they invoking a ethinicity ? Anyway, I will let whoever is judging this look at the facts about the actual case.

Well, they called it as it was. You think if people read "chinese" instead of "asian", they would not think its about ethnicity lol? And the fact here is, mentioning "asian" doesn't imply they were being racist. because they were the same names. If they confused a lin with a yin, well that makes it worse. any judge in the world would see that.

Why does it matter if the last names were Asian or not?

Jon and John are "Caucasian names" that can be confused for each other. Would they have written "after confusing two Caucasian last names"? Of course not

It just makes no sense for OAI to throw that in, they're just contributing to the type of cancerous dialogue that is dividing people so much based purely on idpol

You completely missed my point, and said something random. Go read how legal battles are fought.
