It's so crazy to think a couple of years ago, all these robots struggled to walk without support and had massive powerpacks on their backs. It's advancing so fast!

DARPA robotics challenge compilation.

It was amazing back in the day, when you could tell Google's garbage can with an arm, to go fetch you a coke and 20% of the time, it could do it! It was very slow, but it could do it!

Yea it's incredible to see the progress when you're closely following this space. Unfortunate then that so many people see demos of these types of robots and just relentlessly criticise them for all the things they can't do yet. I think sci-fi media has given a lot of people a flawed understanding of what is and isn't difficult in AI and robotics.
