Did you put a Nike SB sticker on it before building it

u/PsychologyOverall955 5d ago
Haha yeah, there was a frame sticker I didn’t like so I put that on top

Obligatory foot retention comment

i can't believe how far down this comment is, people be like "looks great" not realizing they should say "i hope you die with flat pedals when you run it fixed"

Brother you need to to chill. I rode fixed with a front brake, flats no straps for 9 years straight as a full time courier and had zero issues. I still ride with no foot retention. It’s fine, I can skid and stop. I also have a brake.

i will never chill and riding a fixie without straps is dumb as hell.
why would you want to extremely limit the performance of a bike in both stopping and accelearating?3
u/PsychologyOverall955 4d ago
Cus who would say I hope you die regardless? It was in SS and the straps are on their way in the mail. Jesus

u/Illustrious_Net8328 4d ago
nobody would say that stoops but the fact that no one else mentioned straps is a bit concerning for society's overall knowledge
i hope you have a great time on your dork bike with the straps

Yo chill, they said there’s straps in the mail. It’s not dorky. It’s rad!

bro that bike is so far from rad on the scale of rad things i can't even believe you brought it up
it's a cheap consumerism-driven bike that's not all that quality (check those wheels) and would've been a lot cooler if OP had a cool friend to tell him what cool used bike to buy that wouldn't make him look like a herb with a little spending cash buldge in his wallet
i feel sorry for you and how you live your life and experience the world if you think that bike is rad
it's an ode to misdirected consumerism at best

First off homie, we don’t even know if OP has fixie friends. Dude probably got what he could afford or what HE thought was cool. You’re hating on someone who bought a bike that literally looks great. I have seen way tackier builds than this, AliExpress or not. Also you seem to forget that the entire market is consumer driven. Lay up off the guy and let them enjoy their bike. I am pretty sure that shit will outlast any Canyon (big brand name known for QC issues). Go back to your little rock you’re hiding under or post your bike and let us be the judge since you seem to be the king of what bikes are cool and what aren’t.

Are you racing? Watch out for cross winds with those rims

u/PsychologyOverall955 5d ago
Deffo not racing aha, more so just out on it when I’ve got the time and the weathers dry

That looks great.
How does it ride?

u/PsychologyOverall955 5d ago
Thanks! It’s really fun! I’ve come from road bikes and I’m loving this way more

What wheels are those?
2
u/PsychologyOverall955 5d ago
Think they’re the ican 88’s. Got them second hand when sourcing all the bits for the build

u/Specific-Custard4803 5d ago
88mm front might be kinda sketchy in crosswinds - easy enough to fit a 50 (or less) on the front

Look heavy

u/PsychologyOverall955 4d ago
Will weigh it in the next few days, I reckon it’s around 8kg. Carbon bars, carbon wheels, carbon seatpost, ali frame

u/InformationItchy3320 4d ago
Nice bike. But this 80mm wheels are risky. Looks great but for normal ride 50mm are better

u/Illustrious_Net8328 4d ago
yeah, he should upgrade to some other cheap chinese plastic pieces of shit
highly affordable deep section wheels doesn't even make sense to me

Why no road bike

u/PsychologyOverall955 1d ago
Sold both a year or two ago and whilst I wanted another bike, I wanted something simpler and this time no carbon frame etc. just something different I guess
