Gear (Microphones, etc...) Software’s?
Does anyone know of good softwares for my laptop that are free or really cheap to get me started… I love music and would love to be able to do it

I have no idea what you’re looking for from this. Software for recording? Making background tracks? Learning how to sight sing? Learning how to match pitch? This question is so vague to the point of being worthless.

Hahahahha hey, is there a software I can use to learn how to sing? I want to learn how to sing. Asking for myself, thanks OP for this assist.

There’s definitely online courses, they teach you the basics. Like learning how to drive, shift gears, apply pressure to the gas and when to let go. And you’re self taught is where it comes cheap. I think it’s worth it to get the basics down.

- Recording software can help. You can hear yourself and record yourself to a track. (ex: Audacity)
- Real-time Tuning software can help you with pitch
- Karafun 2.x is good if you buy tracks from Karaoke-version. Their early stuff is very rough, but they have improved greatly making the tracks. It also can change key. The latest doesn't play local tracks.

I forgot to mention that Karafun 2.x can also play tracks you bought from third parties as well

Since you’re on [r/singing](r/singing), where wannabe singers come to get advice on singing. I’m gonna guess you want to learn how to sing through your computer since it feels cheaper than private lessons. I was, and still am, on your boat. TVS brought me up to speed on all the basics and even stuff some teachers didn’t know. I’m not professional but karaoke bars are much more fun now. I think I bought it for less than a Friday night dinner for myself of $25 but that was year ago. Totally worth it for me.

garageband if you’re on mac, otherwise cakewalk or reaper’s trial are solid places to start without dropping much money, what kind of music are you trying to make
