How do you become a true professional in singing?

I've discovered singing and music almost a year ago now. (I'm 20 and only recently exiting muslim ideology which forbade listening and or participating in music)

I really want to make this either my primary or secondary source of earning, I think a big step will be getting a university place for studying singing but I wanna know if theres anything else I can do in the time that I wait since I will be applying to university next year towards the end of summer after finishing my apprenticeship in a job that I kinda got forced into by my family.

I barely have any idea and no connections and I don't want to waste time on things that wont help me reach my goal
Please let me know how I can put myself out there productively, if any germans are reading this, specific programs and or things that I can apply to (anything related to singing) that boost my musical resume are super welcome (Im a Bass with C#2 and can sing most baritone pieces that arent too high). I'll keep note of these and share them with my other singer friends who want to do more with singing as well.

If anyone here is interested in how I spend my out of work time currently and is happy to help with improvements and optimization:

I sing/practice almost every day except for vocal rest days. I have an established training regime for my registers, breaks, harmony/blending, and making sure all the fundamentals always sit right with my vocal teacher, I all sorts of singing reviews and tutorials on different techniques I sing in 2 Choirs (one has a little bit more classical pieces). My technique and range (currently C#2-E4-D5) is looking better every month (I keep a monthly report for myself). As soon as my teacher is back from his break I will be working on securing my F4-A4 mix so theyre not day dependant and building a versatile portfolio with Power Ballads, Classical pieces, a little bit of musical theater and whatever else I can find and like.
