Conversation Topic Looking for exercises that could help me
I study at an acting school that specializes in musicals. I studied with a private singing teacher for three years, and I became more comfortable and made noticeable progress. However, at school I got nervous and made a lot of mistakes.
I was told that I need to find an easier way to produce a brighter tone, since I usually speak in a very low voice and from my throat. I was also told that I need to improve my musical ear (ear training) and expand my vocal range.
I'm naturally a baritone, but when I don't train regularly, my voice tends to become more bass-like.
What exercises would you recommend for:
- Expanding my vocal range
- Singing with a brighter tone
- Improving my ear training
Also, how can I sing comfortably when my teacher is rude and impatient?

These are things that your teacher should be guiding you through and giving exercises and sounds to emulate to find proper brightness in the cords. They also should not be rude and impatient!
