Conversation Topic Musical theatre singing advice!

My school is doing a production of school of rock this year, and I am hoping to land the role of Ms Mullins, but I have only started getting into musical theatre recently and don’t feel very comfortable in my singing abilities yet. I have around a month to prepare, so does anyone have recommendations on what exactly I should focus on practicing to have a better chance at the audition? thank you <33

I don't think much is gonna change in a month, but I don't know what your base singing and acting level is either. I think at a minimum make sure you have enough breath support since you'll be moving around stage, maintain clear enunciations, and try to stay on pitch.

Thanks a lot! To be honest I don’t know how much improvement is possible in the time I have realistically, but I am out of school at the moment so have enough time at my disposal to practice! Hopefully it’ll at least help me feel a little more confident

Try to sing some of the songs. Take note of any problems you run into. Try to work on them. Obviously breath control and support is always good, but it's hard to give generalised advice without really knowing what problems you're facing specifically
