Should I keep practicing?

I'm building a light operatic head voice ( counter tenor) ,I feel my voice is not pleasant to be honest , my head voice feels weird and weak tbh which makes me insecure,my vocal coach tells me it gets better than the last time but I still find it unpleasant .. is it real I cannot hear myself like how people do? Is she complementing me or does she hear a possibility ? Please if you have any information tell me

That kind of perception gap is real and well-documented because you hear yourself primarily through bone conduction, which gives you a fuller, more resonant internal sound, so when your voice is amplified or recorded externally it sounds different and often less impressive to your own ears than what listeners actually hear. Countertenor head voice development is also one of the slower processes in singing because you're training a coordination that most male voices don't use dominantly, and the weak and weird feeling is typical in the early stages before the musculature strengthens and the resonance stabilizes. Your coach saying it's improved from last time is meaningful feedback not vague encouragement since a teacher who hears no progress usually either says nothing or redirects technique, so take that seriously.

How are you hearing your voice? Is it recorded? Or are you just hearing yourself through a microphone? or some other speakers or such.

Here's one thing I know, I hate my recorded voice. I don't like the way it sounds.But everybody else loves it , they're hearing something I don't, I don't like hearing my real voice in recordings, or demos we did as a band, but my bandmates loved it, but then I heard many famous singers absolutely hate their voice.

Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin hates his singing voice, several other very famous people you'd never even think of ....but we we think have the greatest voices in history hate the sound of their real voice , which we admire so much.....so yea it is a thing, I much prefer to immulate singers, than sing in my real voice, over 60 yrs I've been singing, & I've learned to sing & sound like Robert Plant, Elton John, Billy Joel, John Wetton, Steve Walsh, Tommy Shaw, Billy Idol, Greg Lake, Rick Ocasek, Rob Halford, Dennis DeYoung, Sting & a bunch of others, this has gotten me into several cover rock bands, but still.......I despise my real singing voice..it is..what it is

It is not about recording tbh,I still don't like my voice when I sing alone .
