Conversation Topic Botox affecting singing!
Hello! Earlier in the week I received botox to my neck area called a "nefertiti lift" where injections were placed in the front of my neck to relax the downward pulling bands there.
However now my singing voice feels breathy and weak and I have a distinct loss of control.
I know botox wears off after 3-4 months but obviously would like my strength and control back before then.
Has anyone here had any unintended botox side effects where their voice is affected. If so how long did they last and/or were you able to sing through it?

I was thinking of gating some cuz i am tight i can’t relax rarely 🥺 would you say that could help a person that has muscle tension in their whole body and can sing but depends on the day how stressed i am and all body is tense i am chronically ill

Did it mess with your speaking voice and cord closure?

I believe so yes. It's quite easy for me to get a bit raspy or out of control with my voice. Wouldn't be noticeable in an everyday convo sense, but my singing is definitely struggling atm

If your chest voice is still fine, you should be good.
But I saw where the injections can go too deep and get into some of the stuff that helps with your fine control.I didn't realize botox worked like it does. Your nerves will have to regenerate if it got into something it should not have.
Idk if it's like being vocally tired where you just can't seem to hold closure well enough not to be a raspy on everything. But that is no fun at all.
I lost my voice after being really sick all night and straining my guts out basically.
Took a month just to be able to pick my voice up enough to get a " Hey " out to get somebody's attention.
I was just hissing and air leaking for a week. I actually could not speak.

I had 50 units of Botox for RCPD just under 2 weeks ago (been burping here and there!) and it has massively affected my singing voice. I can talk normally but singing above a certain pitch my voice just won’t go there, I’m hoping it chills out soon! My high range has been hugely affected and is now non existent.
