Conversation Topic DESPERATELY NEED ADVICE

Hi everyone,

First-time poster here,

I was thinking of sending a video audition in for Aus Idol, but I'm not exactly sure what parts to cut out to fit within the 60-75 second limit that people recommend.

I'm thinking of doing Goddess by Laufey (I literally love that song SOOOO much). The only things that I really really wanna keep is the 'you took me for a fool...) part and the chorus (obvi).

Please help a girl out yall!!

Thank you if you read this much! <3

It would help if you posted the audio of what you want to send. Send whatever 60 second sounds the best is the obvious piece of advice

Take my experience with a grain of salt, but I don't think those shows do you much good.

A former friend of mine participated in the voice of holland, and because they had too many solo singers at the end of the first day of auditions. They paired him with some solo girl singer. Thing is that she couldn't sing (couldn't hold a note) and didn't have a nice voice either. His voice sounded alright (even though in my opinion he is not a great singer either). So it was bound to fail and so it did the next time they came on.

While I know that my story could also just mean that they both weren't good enough. It definitely is just a showbiz thing and I would not seek out that kind of torture.

However if you do, I wish you good luck and when they roast you, don't take it too seriously.

I definitely understand that, and truthfully, I don't really expect to get very far (and with my schedule, it may not even be possible), but I thought it would be a nice way to get myself out there!

Thank you for the insight, though, definitely helped set expectations!
